Fox Club
Over the past few months The Fox Club, Mills Whitaker Architects, and Berkeley Building Company have worked through many obstacles to maintain momentum on The Fox Club Renovation Project. We are happy to announce that we are now out of the ground on the new accessible entry addition! Interior improvements are well underway and it feels good to see finishes being installed. Looking forward to working with the team to bring the new Fox Club vision to life!

SalemFive Bank - Salem, MA Offices
One of Berkeley's latest ventures was an ambitious 10,000 square foot renovation project on the 5th floor of Salem Five's headquarters, located in the heart of downtown Salem, MA. This extensive makeover transformed the space into a functional and modern office environment. The project encompassed the construction of new offices, cubicles, a breakroom with a kitchen area, and bathroom upgrades. Undertaken during Salem’s bustling Halloween season, this project presented unique challenges that were handled with exceptional precision and management skills. We successfully navigated the complexities of working in a live, dynamic environment, ensuring minimal disruption while maintaining our commitment to quality and efficiency.

Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) - New 24 Ton Chiller
The 24-ton Chiller project requires extensive coordination and testing to ensure the equipment is up and running properly. The team has tested the equipment’s ammonia detection, supervisory alarm, and chiller settings, all of which are running as designed. An important element of the chiller is connecting the air intake cooling coil to a mixing valve. The team was required to raise the temperature of the cold glycol from -37 degrees to 50 degrees shifting between cold and hot glycol systems. Once the 24-ton chiller is up and running, it requires a few days to dial in the chiller settings and ensure everything is ready for use.

Somerville Music Spaces
Somerville Music Studio was an interior fit-up of multiple music spaces, including three practice rooms, two studio rooms, a large rehearsal room, and a performance auditorium. Careful execution of the acoustic design was required to prohibit any sound leakage to the abutting businesses and residential condos. A key note in this project was the coordination required to handle the pre-tensioned concrete slabs in the space as well as maintain the sound design!

SalemFive Bank - Beverly, MA
SalemFive was the interior fit-up of a new SalemFive branch in Beverly. This project was unique in that a 5-panel sliding glass door was installed and designed to fold behind a custom millwork panel door. Close coordination with the city as well as the base building was acquired to achieve TCO as the base building did not yet have permanent power! Another highlight was achieving completing this project five weeks ahead of the projected schedule

The University Club of Boston
Berkeley Building Company is thrilled to announce the completion of the Multi-Phased Renovation of The University Club Building. A phased renovation of an occupied building such as The University Club can be quite the undertaking, but we are so happy to have been able to work alongside such an amazing team to successfully get this one across the finish line. This would not have been possible without the help of exceptional professionals from The University Club, ARC. Architects, CBI Engineering, R.W. Sullivan, TEC, Berkeley Subcontractors, and many others. We truly hope you are enjoying the new spaces, UClub Boston!
