Northeastern University Spear Hall
The Spear Hall project was a renovation of the East and West wing lounge and study spaces. The project consisted of 8 lounges utilized by students at the university. Each lounge was updated with all new finishes including carpet, ACT ceiling, paint, light fixtures, and acoustic paneling. The acoustic paneling plays a significant role in the student’s privacy by eliminating noise and allowing students to use the lounges to study.
Northeastern University Snell
The MIE Staff Suite Office project was a renovation of 1,200 sf of office space and 1,020 sf of multiuse classroom and conference room spaces. The rooms were complete with new carpet, paint, custom millwork, ACT ceiling, light fixtures, and updated fire protection.
Northeastern University Cabot Center Bathrooms
The Cabot Center Restrooms project was a renovation of the second-floor men’s and women’s restrooms. This work included regrouting of existing block wall, all new floor tile, bathroom partitions, bathroom accessories, light fixtures, and a re-configuration of the existing HVAC system.
Harvard University Kennedy School
The Harvard Kennedy Littauer Seminar Rooms 330 and 332 project was a renovation including new carpet, paint, ACT ceilings, storefront glass, and an upgrade to the existing fire protection system. A unique feature of this project was a new under carpet power system, and new audiovisual equipment installed into both seminar rooms to be utilized for classes and lectures.
CRREL New 24 Ton Chiller
The 24-ton Chiller project requires extensive coordination and testing to ensure the equipment is up and running properly. The team has tested the equipment’s ammonia detection, supervisory alarm, and chiller settings, all of which are running as designed. An important element of the chiller is connecting the air intake cooling coil to a mixing valve. The team was required to raise the temperature of the cold glycol from -37 degrees to 50 degrees shifting between cold and hot glycol systems. Once the 24-ton chiller is up and running, it requires a few days to dial in the chiller settings and ensure everything is ready for use.
Boston University Questrom School of Business
This project consisted of a renovation of an existing multi-function room on the 4th floor of a 10-story building that can be divided into 3 spaces with new operable partitions. Buildout included new finishes, light fixtures, and a state-of-the-art A/V system that controls all functions in the space, including lights and window shades!
Groton Health Center
Groton School Health Center renovation of about 2,500 sf. Work included new floor configuration to add 2 additional health rooms, new finishes: drywall, ceilings, flooring, paint, plumbing for a new sink at nurse station, new HVAC and electrical systems and upgrades to fire protection and fire alarm system. Work included new door and door operator for bathroom on the first floor and kitchen modifications to add a cooktop and associated hood.
Boston University Sabelhaus
Berkeley Building Company has teamed up with Boston University on a 1,850SF renovation of one of their existing lab spaces. The renovated space will serve as Boston Universities latest 3-D Printing Lab Space that will accommodate the research needs of incoming faculty Dr. Drew Sabelhaus. The project is well underway with a target completion date of September 1st, 2023.
Somerville Music Spaces
Somerville Music Studio was an interior fit-up of multiple music spaces, including three practice rooms, two studio rooms, a large rehearsal room, and a performance auditorium. Careful execution of the acoustic design was required to prohibit any sound leakage to the abutting businesses and residential condos. A key note in this project was the coordination required to handle the pre-tensioned concrete slabs in the space as well as maintain the sound design!
Harvard University Smith Center
Harvard HUPAD project is an open office concept. The scope of the work involves demolition of select MEP components and walls; furnish and install new walls, ceilings, MEP/FA components, finishes, and millwork. The tenants will have plenty of space and a nice view of Harvard Square Yard.
Boston College McMullen Museum
In September of 2022, BBC submitted a proposal to perform some work for Boston College at the McMullen Museum of Art. The converted mansion on Commonwealth Avenue also serves as a teaching museum and conference center. BC Alum Peter Lynch (Fidelity Vice-Chairman) has made a large gift to the museum, including a Picasso from his personal art collection, that will be on display. The project included adding wall space, relocating electrical devices, audio-visual equipment, and HVAC T-Stats. The work also included revised lighting controls, partial light fixture replacement, installing a conduit raceway system for a new security system as well as miscellaneous lobby improvements. The work started in January as is nearing completion.
SalemFive Bank
SalemFive was the interior fit-up of a new SalemFive branch in Beverly. This project was unique in that a 5-panel sliding glass door was installed and designed to fold behind a custom millwork panel door. Close coordination with the city as well as the base building was acquired to achieve TCO as the base building did not yet have permanent power! Another highlight was achieving completing this project five weeks ahead of the projected schedule
197 Coolidge Street
Existing residential home was converted into office space for the school’s administration department. Work included replacement of existing hvac and ventilation systems, new LED lighting, new fire alarm and emergency lighting systems, restroom upgrades, and ADA accessibility changes along with new painting and carpeting throughout the building.
90 Antwerp Street
90 Antwerp is a newly completed multi-family project that includes 20 units, 12 of which are affordable. The project is a mix of 1,2 and 3 bedroom units, with amenity spaces, storage areas and covered parking. The exteriors of the buildings are multi colored sidings that match much of the adjoining neighborhood construction with the grounds landscaped with native plantings and a dedicated park area for use by both building residents and neighbors.

Fit-out of a high-end office space on Canal Street in Boston. Work involved steel and wood structural reframing, new MEP systems, and high-end finishes.

Symphony Court Condominiums

Adaptive reuse of parking garage into a 6 story luxury condominium building in Boston's Back Bay. This project was one of the first of its kind in the country, and was built with very limited laydown and mobilization space. New egress stairs and an elevator tower were inserted to serve the 38 high-end condominiums. The penthouse roof decks provide a panoramic view of the Boston skyline.
The University Club of Boston
Berkeley Building Company is thrilled to announce the completion of the Multi-Phased Renovation of The University Club Building. A phased renovation of an occupied building such as The University Club can be quite the undertaking, but we are so happy to have been able to work alongside such an amazing team to successfully get this one across the finish line. This would not have been possible without the help of exceptional professionals from The University Club, ARC. Architects, CBI Engineering, R.W. Sullivan, TEC, Berkeley Subcontractors, and many others. We truly hope you are enjoying the new spaces, UClub Boston!
Parcel 9 Residences

Ground-up construction of a 50 unit apartment building with 1st floor retail spaces. The 1st floor was constructed of steel and concrete atop geopiers while the 5 floors above were wood framed. Photovoltaic panels supplement the electrical service and the building received a LEED Silver certification.
